THE IC37 KANREKI HAS WON ITS CLASS AT COWES WEEK WITH FOUR WINS IN SIX RACES!

Although probably one of the most challenging on record in terms of weather, Cowes Week 2019 turned out to be one of most successful in the history of the event with 100s of teams enjoying super-fast, exciting racing all week.

The newest boat in IRC Class 1, Russell Peters’ IC37 Kanreki, stormed to victory, counting four first places and one third.

Sam Pearson who is spearheading the UK IC37 fleet comments: “Although it was never our intention to focus on IRC when launching this new One Design circuit for the UK, we always knew we had to keep it in the back of our minds.

It was our opinion that if we wanted to see One Design really flourish and perhaps hit 20+ boats, the design simply had to appeal to a wider audience, which is how other OD classes have been caught out in the past. As we have seen by these wins straight off the bat, the IC37 is 100% the weapon of choice to re-launch big boat, One Design racing in the UK again. Based on the 30 odd conversations with potential owners, we are confident that 2020 is going to see the start of something really special.”

Inspections of the boats and test sails are available and build slots are already starting to fill up.
